BLESSINGS AT FALKIRK FREE CHURCH
At our Annual General meeting, held on Wednesday evening 31st March 2010, the congregation of Falkirk Free Church learnt that 2009 had been a year of great blessings for us.Following the opening worship service, in which our Minister addressed the gathering on words from Ephesians Chapter 3, a total of 8 speakers reported on the range of congregational activities and expressed our thankfulness to God for the many encouragements we have experienced.
These included :-
• An increase of 10 in the numbers regularly attending Sunday services, with a trend for some casual visitors to begin attending frequently.
• A total of six new individuals professing faith in Christ and sitting at the Lord`s Table with us.
• A total of 6 members added to the Communion Roll having previously been members in other congregations/denominations.
• An increase from 17 to 27 in children regularly attending Sunday School, with a further 8 in pre-school groups.
• The successful resumption after a long break of the young people`s club-The Trailblazers- which has attracted a number of children with no previous church connection.
• An increase of 9-10% in overall givings so that we ended the year with a modest surplus.
• Active support for a wide range of mission activities such as Mission Africa, EEFC, Grace Third World Ministries,WFM, Bientot/Soon Correspondence Ministry, London City Mission and sponsoring a couple from the congregation on a work experience in Nigeria.
• Our Mums and Tots groups are now full and there is a waiting list.
Following expressions of appreciation for all who contributed to the work of the congregation the meeting was concluded with the singing of the last three verses of Psalm 72 followed by the benediction. We then enjoyed a period of fellowship over a cup of tea and some cakes and biscuits.
