Frequently Asked Questions

If something isn’t covered please ask

contact us (webmaster).

At what times are your services?

The services are held every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Where are you located?

Please see this page for a map and directions.

Where do you park?

There is a car park located beside the church. If that is full there are plenty of safe, quiet roads in sight of the church. (It has been requested that we don’t park in the “Co-op” car park as it is in constant use).

Who will I see when I come in?

There is usually someone at the entrance who is there to help you. Inside you can be supplied with a psalm book (our songbook) and a Bible if you want them for your use during the service.

How long does it last?

Generally, just over an hour, give or take a few minutes. Family services tend to be a bit shorter and services with baptisms or the Lord’s supper tend to last a little longer.

How long are the sermons?

Sermons are approximately 35 minutes. You can download previous sermons here.

Are guests intimidated?

Smile No, we try to welcome our guests (we want you to come back) but we don’t want to make you uncomfortable. You are invited to stay behind and chat after the services. Many of the congregation stay behind for a drink after the evening service.

Who is welcome to communion?

We don't celebrate the Lord's Supper every week, only a few times each year as advertised, as part of the morning service. Visitors who are Christians and members in good standing of other denominations are welcome to join with us at communion. Everyone else is welcome to watch.

Is the building accessible by people who use wheelchairs?

Yes, the car park is on ground level and no ramps or other helps are required. We also have a toilet, which you can access inside the building.

Is there a nursery or other activities for small children?

Babies and toddlers are very welcome in the service. Provision is made however, to hear the service from another room, if for any reason you need to leave.

During the school year, there are Sunday School and Bible classes held at during the morning service. Part way through that service, there is a children's message after which the classes exit as the congregation sings.

What is the seating like?

There are large cushioned chairs. You can sit to the right, to the left or in the centre; you're welcome anywhere.

(Edit: That's to the left or right of the room. We recommend the centre of the chairs).

Is there an expectation to give money?

There is an offering plate in the lobby, but there is no pressure put on visitors to contribute to the church.

Will I be able to hear?

The church is fitted with a PA system so everyone can hear no matter where they sit. There is also a loop system for those with a hearing aid.

What do I wear?

There is no dress code so wear whatever feels comfortable. Most people wear smart casual but suits or more casual clothes are not unusual.

What about toilets?

The toilets are situated in the lobby to the left of the main entrance. The women’s toilet has baby changing facilities. There is a toilet suitable for wheelchair access next to it. The men’s toilet is to the right of that.

What if I live too far and don't have a car?

Please contact us (minister or anyone else). We have a number of volunteers who provide transport to those that need it. Please give us as much notice as you can though.
