Situations Vacant and Job Sought
Situations Vacant :- Falkirk Street Pastors wish to recruit a Co-ordinator for the local Initiative which operates in the town centre each weekend. This is a voluntary post. However, reasonable expenses may be reimbursed for expenditure incurred. The person will be someone who is an enthusiastic, committed Christian. Ideally they should already be a trained and experienced Street Pastor. If not they would need to give an undertaking to complete the training as soon as possible following upon their appointment. The skill mix for this post includes: Administrative, Presentational, Fund Raising and People Management skills. The person appointed will be responsible to the local Management Group for the day to day running of the project. A member of the Management Group will be responsible for regular support and supervision.
Another 10 Street Pastors are also needed to compliment the team of 16. Also, another two members are required for the Management Committee of four. Speak to Trevor May if you are interested in any of those 13 opportunities.
Job Sought :- I am a 20-year-old student from Ontario, Canada. I would love to work in Scotland this summer for about 4 months (mid June to September). As I attend Flamborough Canadian Reformed Church, I would love to work and or stay at a home of a member of the Free Church of Scotland. Is there a member of your congregation who might need a worker this summer?
Ideally I would like to work at an inn as general help, housekeeping and possibly kitchen work. I have attended college for Baking and Pastry Arts at George Brown College in Toronto, so I am able to make pastries, breakfast items (croissants, muffins) and breads. I am not very athletic so strenuous physical work would not suit me.
I have customer service experience and would be open to any reception kind of jobs.
I will be applying for a work visa in March, under the Youth Mobility Scheme So I will be legally able to work in Scotland by June.
I can supply a full CV and references on request.
Solas New Website
Solas Centre for Public Christianity can now be found on the web at www.solas-cpc.co.uk. Keep up-to-date with all Solas training events and David Robertson's new vodcast entitled "Fleabytes." Fleabytes is a weekly short video clip that will challenge the atheistic / agnostic views of society and encourage Christians to think through reasons for faith in God. We hope that the website, vodcasts and training events would be used for God's glory in the evangelism of unbelievers and discipleship of his people.

Feeling Restless?
Safari with a difference
Church members Anne and Ken Mizon recently spent three weeks in Uganda and rather than it being a sightseeing holiday their time was spent looking after a guest house that is operated by Aim International, formerly Africa Inland Mission. The guest house is called Matoke Inn, matoke being a particular type of banana which is part of the local staple diet and is eaten cooked. more>>
