Worthwhile Web Wanderings
by Miss Mouse
So here are my offerings, after scuttling around a site on religion where people ask questions and anybody in the world can offer an answer. Atheists also participate and I was greatly encouraged when, after giving an answer to one question, "Do the Old and New Testaments contradict each other, and which is more relevant in Christianity?" the atheist who posted it responded, "You have inspired me to start reading the Bible!"
The participants are anonymous on that site, with only the country they come from being identified. They also use pseudonyms, which mean we don't know their real names. However, they have e-mail contact available on that particular site, so I have asked them for their permission to reproduce their answers. Every answer/comment submitted here comes with the author's permission. Enjoy!

4 - Question from an atheist - How come the one true God just happens to be the
one that you follow? (adding that it’s quite an extraordinary
coincidence!)
Answer from a Christian in America -
Maybe it can be a coincidence, but I guess, when we get to the bottom line, when the rubber really hits the road as we say, it's not just a question of whether the True God happens to be the One that a person is following, but whether this True God is not just an object of worship, or a Person that you have to pay homage to, to please, but HOW this God impacts on your life, your living, your interaction and handling of people around you. To me this is the real fruit.
We can all speak out of a book, but if your life is a contradiction to those writings, then we need to ask ourselves; what are we really giving ourselves to?
I chose Jesus Christ because I realized that I needed not just a God to worship or please, or someone to make demands on me and leave me to do it all on my own. I got tired of that, and coming from a history of Hinduism and even from the Muslim faith, this Jesus Christ was a big difference for me.
He did not just make demands, but became the Supply to meet those very demands.
What am I saying? It's simple actually; I believed, I received... and this Person who loved me enough to die to redeem me from Satan's bullying and usurpation, came to live inside my spirit, to fill me with His life and His very Person. Today, it's not just about trying to be this or that, but just a matter of drawing from the Lord and giving Him a way to be a Christian in me. He even overcame Satan, so now I can walk in His victory.
I guess I don't worry anymore. I just trust everyday. And when I fail, when I struggle, I know that because He became a human being like me, and is filled with all the human experiences, that He can identify with me and help me.
To me that was the bottom line. Is my God real to me, or is it just tradition, just being ' born into something'? I really think that Jesus is awesome. He is truly a friend, Savior, and the absolute love of my life. I thank Him from the bottom of my heart for rescuing me from myself and from Satan.
